We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and vibrant leader with experience in developing and leading clinical projects.

About us 

The PGF Services nationwide team consists of qualified counsellors providing free, professional and confidential counselling services for both gamblers and others affected by gambling and a dedicated public health team working on harmful gambling issues in the community using a health promotion approach. 

Harmful gambling is a significant social issue in New Zealand and at PGF Services, we work with communities, district and city councils, gambling providers and policy makers to support the change necessary to reduce gambling harm.  

Job Description

About the role

We are looking for someone to:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to key clinical projects;
  • Be an active member of the national clinical team, contributing to the development of evidence-based gambling harm best practice;
  • Contribute to the development of new and ongoing improvements to models of care and service delivery;
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to the Practioners, including monitoring international best practice and emerging changes to service development; and
  • Develop and deliver training and workforce development initiative that supports our model of care

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Completed qualification from NZ recognised tertiary institution in a relevant field such as social work, mental health, counselling and/or addiction
  • A membership to a governing body such as NZ Psychological Society, Social Work Registration Board, NZ Council of Nursing, Dapaanz, or NZAC
  • Clinical leadership experience of a therapeutic service with a good working knowledge of a range of models of care and engagement
  • Minimum 5 years practice experience
  • Good knowledge and experience of working with gambling harm desirable but not essential
  • A full and clean Driver’s Licens

You will have the skills and experience to develop new clinical services, ongoing service improvements and the implementation of specialist clinical programmes. This includes creating and managing resources, developing, and evaluating service pilots, and designing and implementing clinical education packages. 

You will bring a proven ability to develop, deliver and report on programmes and initiatives with a strong focus on continuous improvement. The overarching focus of the role is to carry out service development and improvements that enhance the access, experience, and outcomes of tāngata whaiora and their whānau.

You will have a strong track record of collaborative working approaches and will work closely with our national directors and regional managers to support clinical excellence within PGF Services.
